Custom made orthotic inserts have been the buzz word in athletic circles for many years. They have often been touted a cure all for what ails you and have been variously prescribed and fitted without good cause.

The foot is indeed the foundation of our kinetic chain. As such it must function in an orderly fashion to produce efficient and effective mobility.

At Athlete's Care we are trained to assess the foot to sort out the appropriate diagnosis and management. Many foot problems are not treated with orthotics and we have the expertise to advise accordingly.

Shoes play an important in foot support. Most dress shoes do not have a built in technology to assist foot problems other than comfort and shock absorption. Sport shoes , on the other hand, often incorporate a wide variety of technological components which contribute to their unique function in various sports.

Orthotics come in many sizes and shapes and must be customized not only to your foot but also to your shoe.

Consultations are available at Athlete's Care where we can help you with your questions and provide a solution to your problem.
