Biography

Dr. Jamie Rusen is an orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty training in the management of both traumatic and degenerative disorders of the upper extremity. This includes comprehensive training in both operative, and non-operative, treatments of the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist. He also has specialized training in comprehensive orthopedic trauma surgery.

Dr. Rusen completed his medical studies at the University of Manitoba, earning his MD. He also completed an additional BSc Med degree, while doing research on ACL reconstruction surgery. His orthopedic surgery residency training was completed at the University of Manitoba in 2013.

Dr. Rusen then went on to pursue additional fellowship training at Sunnybrook hospital, through the University of Toronto, in the area of comprehensive upper extremity surgery. He also spent time at the Hand and Upper limb Centre, through the University of Western Ontario. Specific attention was focused in the area of complex trauma and reconstruction of the upper limb, arthroscopy and hand and wrist surgery.

He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
