Biography
Alphonsus graduated from Queen’s University in 2009 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. He is committed to continuing education and has taken numerous post graduate courses in the field of Orthopaedics relating to injury prevention, management and biomechanics. He is fully certified through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute as a Medical and Anatomical Acupuncture provider and has also taken McKenzie Institute training for spinal dysfunction, Mulligan Concept, Therapeutic and Athletic Taping and Active Release Techniques. He is currently pursuing his Advanced Manual Therapy Certification and has also had training through The Orthotic Group to provide customized orthotics.
Alphonsus utilizes an anatomical and biomechanical approach to determine the underlying dysfunction in order to provide accurate treatment. He has treated various injuries ranging from acute to chronic, minor sprain/strains to post-operative, pediatric to elderly, and competitive to non-competitive athletes. He is focused on delivering client-centred care and functional rehabilitation with the ultimate goal of restoring optimal health.
Alphonsus is also a sports and fitness enthusiast and especially enjoys playing football and basketball. He has also played varsity level volleyball and continues to participate competitively.
