Biography

Rakefet received her Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology (Hons B Kin) in 2006 from McMaster University, and her Honours Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT) from the University of Alberta in 2009.

Prior to joining the team at Athlete’s Care, Rakefet spent close to three years working at McMaster University’s David Braley Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre where she cared for elite provincial and national level athletes as well as McMaster’s Varsity athletes across a broad spectrum of sports. She also has previous experience working in Edmonton, Alberta at Kinsmen Physical Therapy Clinic mentored by therapists with international sport and Olympic Games experience. Rakefet uses her extensive training in ballet (Royal Academy of Dance) to complement her therapeutic exercise knowledge.

She is currently working towards her Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy and certification in acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada.
