Hilary completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queens University. Prior to this, she studied at the University of Toronto, completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a minor in Music History and Culture. Hilary is also a Clinical Instructor for the University of Torontos Master of Physical Therapy Program, as well as a sessional instructor with the University of Torontos Masters of Professional Kinesiology program. Hilary is a Level 1 Manual Therapist and is currently pursuing her Level 2 certifications; she is also certified with Acupuncture and Dry Needling. As well, Hilary is a Certified Provider of the Shift Concussion Management program. Other additional education includes Muscle Activation Technique JumpStart, Soft Tissue Release, K-Taping Pro and Sport First Responder.
Prior to entering the Physiotherapy program, Hilary worked as a personal trainer and strength coach, training youth and university-aged athletes as well as general population. She has experience in working with a diverse population, including musculoskeletal, cardiac, and paediatric patients. Hilary is a firm believer that patient education, manual and exercise therapies are key components in correcting dysfunction and return to sport and physical activity, as well as prevention of potential future disease and dysfunction.
A former competitive Nordic skier, Hilary continues to remain active by running half-marathons, skiing cross-country and downhill, mountain biking, playing flag football, tennis and baseball, and being active in the gym. Hilary is a big fan of Harry Potter, Marvel and DC Comics, and enjoys attending live sports, particularly the Toronto Blue Jays.
