Biography
Before becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, Calvin grew up with a passion for sports. He played various recreational sports from volleyball, ultimate frisbee, football, lacrosse and many more but competitively, Calvin has 15+ years of experience in hockey. His love and passion for sports drove him to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and learning the ins and outs of the human body. Calvin graduated with a Kinesiology Degree, Bachelor of Science with Honours from York University in 2023. After graduating from York University, he then extended his passion for sports and the study of the human body to a career field in massage therapy at Sutherland-Chan.
Calvin's background of sports combined with his intelligence of biomechanics allows him to visualize and plan treatments to reduce pain, improve performance and elicit a relaxation response. To achieve these results, Calvin uses a variety of techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, general Swedish techniques, cupping, active release techniques, and neuromuscular facilitation. As a Registered Massage Therapist, Calvin always aims to achieve the goals of his patients whether a full body relaxation massage or decreasing pain and improving range of motion in specific joints.
Aside from Calvin's passion to improve the quality of life of others, in his free time he recently developed a new passion for golf and also continues to play competitive hockey in the ASHL
