Biography

Laura completed her Masters in Physiotherapy at Queen's University after pursuing an Honours Bachelors of Science at the University of Toronto.

As a physiotherapist, Laura's passion and enthusiasm to rehabilitate clients to their sport and play of preference come from her background playing baseball, squash and participation in distance running and dancing at local studios. Laura also practices as a Registered Physiotherapist at Toronto General. She welcomes clients of different age groups and conditions as she has previous experience in the rehabilitation of sports and overuse injuries, general neck and low back pain, post-surgical and neurological conditions.

Laura believes that treatment should focus on correcting dysfunctional movement patterns and addressing the root causes responsible for the symptoms. She uses the most current evidence through a combination of functional movement screening, manual therapy, individualized exercise prescription, modalities and education to ensure injury prevention and a successful return to play and activities of daily living.

Laura is committed to getting involved with community events and staying current with new evidence. She has pursued additional training as McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program, Neuro Kinetic Therapy, First Responder (by Sports Physiotherapy Canada), vestibular rehabilitation and persistent pain management certifications. She holds a high interest on concussion management and neurofunctional acupuncture. In her free time, Laura enjoys running, dancing on local studios, playing squash and covering sports events.
