Biography
Mitchel has completed a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Ottawa. After suffering a concussion he decided to pivot and attend Algonquin college for the Massage therapy program. Now having had to manage a brain injury and formerly having been a competitive athlete playing lacrosse at the NCAA level he has a lot of empathy for patients and has unique experiences to bring to his clinical practice.
His formal training is mainly in orthopedics using Swedish, myofascial, and lymphatics techniques. However, with continuing education in cranial sacral therapy and other modalities he hopes to treat the human body through a neurological lens as well. He has specialty clinic experience in post surgical scars, prenatal massage, and sports massage.
In his free time Mitchel is an assistant coach for the University of Ottawa men's lacrosse team. He also likes to salsa dance and play the drums. He is a strong advocate for concussion and brain injury awareness having written blogs intended to destigmatize concussions.
