Katie graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to this she received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University where she was awarded an athletic scholarship for springboard and platform diving. Katie has continued to advance her physiotherapy skills by pursuing certifications in manual therapy, sports taping, and neurofunctional acupuncture.
Katie is a registered Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and has taken numerous courses to assess and treat men and women with incontinence and a variety of pelvic pain conditions. She has a special interest in helping active individuals with incontinence, pelvic injury, or pain return to exercise.
Katie emphasizes an evidence-based and active approach to treatment. She uses a combination of manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, and patient education to reduce pain, optimize function and performance, and prevent re-injury.
In her free time, Katie enjoys staying active by lifting weights, doing yoga, kayaking, hiking, and snowboarding.
