Concussion Management Provider
Lauren holds an Honours Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology and a Certificate in Athletic Therapy from York University. During her time at York, she was President of the Athletic Therapy Executive and is a member of the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO). Upon completing her degree, Lauren remains actively involved in sports therapy at both professional and amateur levels.
A frustrating and lengthy recovery from her own concussion sparked Lauren's interest in improving concussion research and rehabilitation. She is passionate about educating both athletes' and industry professionals about the importance of proper management of concussions. As a Concussion Management provider at Athlete's Care, Lauren is responsible for treating and managing acute and complex concussions, while working alongside a great healthcare team to ensure a truly interdisciplinary approach to treatment for every patient. Alongside working in a clinic setting, Lauren is the Concussion Consultant with the Brampton Beast of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), and held positions as Head Therapist for various National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA) events, was a guest speaker at the NHL Conference for sports therapists and physicians held in Orlando, Florida and is currently completing a degree in psychology to better understand how this injury affects our psychological well-being.
Lauren is passionate about her work and is looking forward to helping concussion patients safely return to work, school, and life.
